About

The National AI Laboratory (AI Lab) was created as part of the National Technology Initiative, a state program aimed to foster federal and international technical industry by supporting startups and establishing infrastructure and competence centers where researchers and engineers can work on breakthrough technologies. Initially hosted by the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technologies and called “Center for Artificial Intelligence”, we became an independent institution thanks to governmental and international grants in 2017. Being a multidisciplinary science and engineering research center, where talented scientists and engineers work together to answer the biggest questions facing humanity, we focus our research on priorities set by the President of the Russian Federation: Healthcare, Education, and Science.

Conversational artificial intelligence, neural networks, deep machine learning, machine translation, text and speech recognition, technical vision, and neuromorphic and quantum research.

Smart networks for energy and communications, including work on “smart home” and “smart city” developments.
